Casinos in the Bezenye area will open in 2009 under new plans revealed to the media this week.
Investor Hans Asamer of Asamer Holding told reporters that as much as $868,500 will be spent on the new venues, with thousands of jobs being created in the process, the Hungarian Sun newspaper has reported.
Bezenye, a town of just over 1,600 people situated on the border between Hungary, Slovakia and Austria, will host casinos as well as other entertainment facilities.
A hotel, spa, conference centre and restaurant will also be built on the site, according to the Hungarian Sun.
The 240 hectare location will see The Venetian Group, now called Eurovegas in the region, build five separate casinos.
The group currently runs the Palazzo and the Venetian in Las Vegas. The Palazzo, a $1.6 billion resort, is currently being built and aims to open in the third quarter of 2007.
