A survey into the most popular gambling quotes of all time has seen a classic turn of phrase from the Color of Money come out on top.
The poll, commissioned by UK casino information portal Jackpot.co.uk, revealed Fast Eddie Felson's advice "Money won is twice as sweet as money earned" to be gamblers' favourite phrase.
Gamers' positive attitude to their favourite pastime was highlighted by the fact that the majority of the top ten were positive mottos or quotes, such as Mario Puzo's famous phrase "It can be argued that man's instinct to gamble is the only reason he is still not a monkey up in the trees," which came in at number seven.
Others favoured a more predetermined approach, with Nick the Greek's "the only difference between a winner and a loser is character" being voted as third most popular.
A double-edged sword came in the shape of Oscar Wilde's sly "one should always play fair when one has the winning cards", ranked second and showing that a sense of humour is never far away from the gaming tables.
