NeTeller confronts YouTeller over name usage

2007-03-05 16:40:40

A cease and desist order has been served on new payment processing website Youteller.com following a legal challenge from NeTeller.

YouTeller was recently set up in a move that was seen by many as an attempt to cover the gap in the market left by NeTeller, which is currently involved in serious legal disputes of its own in the US.

However, NeTeller has now claimed that its registered trademark is being infringed.

Despite the challenge recent claims have suggested that YouTeller will in fact only be available to poker sites as opposed to players themselves.

Confusion also continues to surround the status of NeTeller deposits that have been frozen since the company's founders were arrested in the US last month, with one poker site now advising that such money may be non-recoverable.

"From the sources I have spoken to it seems highly unlikely that the [department of justice] will be sending back much of the money," said Hartley Henderson of Majorwager.com in an article on the site this weekend.
