Mobile gaming to get boost from 3GSM

A European conference focusing on the future of mobile internet technologies has provided an insight into the way in which mobile gambling may develop in future.

Firms such as CryptoLogic have already taken steps to ensure that they are among the first to capitalise on new technological developments, some of which were displayed at the Barcelona 3GSM mobile conference.

3GSM combines existing Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) technologies with third generation innovations such as faster networking and data transfer rates.

CryptoLogic recently announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Chinese software developer Brillance, which is seeking to capitalise on the 400 million users that make China the world's biggest mobile phone market.

Almost 700 exhibitors featured at the 3GSM conference earlier this month, with gambling executives hailing it as good news for the industry.
