CryptoLogic secures deal with Dutch government

2007-02-09 15:57:51

Online gambling software developer CryptoLogic has announced that it has secured a deal to provide poker and casino software to the Dutch government-sanctioned Holland Casino.

The three year contract will begin in June of this year when the casino launches as part of the Dutch government's attempts to regulate online gambling within the country.

Europe-wide trends have largely been towards such regulation in recent months, and CryptoLogic has confirmed its commitment to such procedures.

"At CryptoLogic, we're focused on strengthening our competitive advantage in Europe, and our new relationship with Holland Casino achieves this - in spades," said CryptoLogic president and CEO Lewis Rose.

"By adding a government controlled casino operator to our blue-chip roster of customers, we have an excellent template for other governments interested in realizing the benefits of safe, secure and regulated Internet gaming," Mr Rose added.

Holland Casinos currently operates 14 land-based casinos in the Netherlands. CryptoLogic has now secured deals with both Dutch and Scandinavian-centric websites, and deals with the likes of William Hill could soon see the firm secure Spanish and Italian contracts.
