Resorts Atlantic City casino saw a happy event at the weekend, as a little bundle of joy was born on the gaming floor.

Nyree Thompson, 32, was only eight months pregnant and was planning a morning playing on the slot machines when she felt uncomfortable and had to go to the bathroom.

As she returned to the floor, she told a security guard that she thought her baby was coming, and her waters broke.

Despite warnings from some security guards that she should not push, five minutes later, little Qualeem was born.

The tiny baby weighed less than five pounds and was safely delivered by the time the paramedics arrived, ten minutes after the labour had begun.

Steve Callender, the vice president of operations at the casino told an Atlantic City reporter: "We've had people die here, but we've never had people born here."

Both mother and baby were happy and healthy on leaving the casino and the promise of a memorable experience advertised on the casino's web page was definitely fulfilled for this young mum.
