A South African company hoping to see online gambling legalised in the country has said it is to appeal against a controversial court ruling.
Late last year Judge Willie Hartzenberg of the Pretoria High Court gave Casino Enterprises a deadline of December 15th to redraft an initial court order application.
A draft bill to regulate online and mobile gambling was approved by the country's politicians in December, but has not yet come into law.
Casino Enterprises had originally submitted the court order application in November as part of its efforts to help legalise gambling in South Africa, but was told by Mr Hatzenberg to return with what he would consider a valid reason for applying.
The ruling has cast into doubt the current status of online gambling in the country, as moves continue to regulate the market in line with other nations around the world.
However, Casino Enterprises insists that it is "business as usual", reports IT Web.

Earlier this month a mobile gambling service was launched in South Africa for the first time.
