Neteller moves to European and Asian markets

Online payment processing service Neteller has announced that it is to focus on European and Asian markets in future, it has been revealed.
The e-wallet company, currently based in the Isle of Man in the UK, is targeting areas closer to home in an effort to capitalise on growing markets in both Asia and Europe.
In a statement following the firm's cessation of its US activities, Neteller said that the decision would "allow the group to focus on opportunities available in the growing markets of Europe, Asia and the Americas outside of the United States."
The move is part of a growing trend to explore previously untouched markets among online gambling firms and payments services. With over 135 million gamblers in China alone, such regions represent potentially lucrative sources of revenue for the firms.
Last month assessments of the online gambling market over the next few years predicted that the increasingly common view that gambling was principally a leisure activity would fuel a rise in revenues over the course of the next decade.
