Gambling poll produces surprising results

2006-10-31 16:00:51

A new poll examining the depth of the online gambling world has revealed a diverse series of participants, it has been announced.

The survey, conducted by gambling advisors 777.com, examined the web-based habits of a series of gamblers, and investigated how long they had been playing online versions of their favourite games.

The recent boom in gaming, and poker in particular, was emphasised by the first set of results, which revealed that 37 per cent of online players had been playing for less than a year. The figure implies that the market is still relatively young, with plenty of scope for further development.

While 41 per cent fell into the mid-range categories of players that have been participating online for one to seven years, the surprise came with the revelation that 22 per cent of all players have been playing for over eight years- a period which stretches back right to the birth of the online industry.

The results indicate that there remains a strong base of online gamers that are likely find ways of playing for the foreseeable future, whatever the latest rules and regulations may be.
