Plans for huge casino project move closer

2006-10-19 16:20:00

Two casino moguls are close to finalizing a deal that will see a casino worth $300 million built in Diamondhead, Mississippi.

Diamondhead Casino and Trump Entertainment Resorts are reaching the critical final stages of negotiations that would build the latest Trump gaming resort built on part of Diamondhead's 404 acres in southwest Mississippi.

All due diligence activities have been completed on the letter of intent signed by Diamondhead and the casino development looks like it could forge ahead unhindered.

The gaming resort site is set to cover at least 40 acres and will be located 45 minutes from New Orleans, fronting on both Mississippi Interstate ten and the Bay of St Louis.

The entire 404 acres was bought in the early 90s for $4 million and is now estimated to be worth in excess of $110 million according to a Globest.com report.
