Casino Solitaire

Type:

Card Game

Versions:

Single Player

Premise:

Within solitaire games, which may also be known as patience, there is not an exact history of the game itself. However, it was probably born with the invention of cards. It is a card game that is popular and well-known all over the world, and the world 'solitaire' has the French origin, which means 'patience'.

The objective of the game is to move all the consecutive cards to the appropriate stack. The player will win an amount that is equal to the amount of cards that is moved to the different stacks. The objective of Casino Solitaire therefore is to free up the cards in the deck, so that you build up the Suit Stacks in ascending order, starting with the aces as the foundations.

3.6 Bet Selection :

By clicking on the Bet Selection right and left arrows the player can select their bet for each of the Casino Solitaire games. You can change the bet before the game has begun. This area allows the player to choose the amount that they wish to place on the bet. The right arrow increases the bet, and the left arrow decreases it.

You must set the Bet Selection to the amount that you want to wager, either: $1.04, $2.60, $5.20, $10.40, $26, $52

The default bet is $5.20

Summary of Rules

  • A single deck of 52 cards is used within play.
  • There are 4 foundations created for suit stacks that are initially empty.
  • There are then 7 column row stacks with cards that are fanned down and with the last card flipped over facing upwards on the top of each stack. The cards are dealt out from left to right as follows: 1 card in the first stack, 2 cards in the second, 3 cards in the third and so on to 7 cards in the last stack on the right.
  • The cards that are remaining are then placed face down in the stockpile in the upper left corner.
  • Play deck is then created by turning over the cards from the stockpile and placing them, face up on to the play deck that will sit to the right of the stockpile.
  • The suits are Spades, Hearts, Clubs and Diamonds.
  • Any card that is then placed face up in any Stack is available for play.
  • The player must click on the cards and then drag them to the Row.
  • The Stacks and the Suit Stacks and vice versa.
  • To move a card, a stack or a partial stack from one Row Stack to another, the player must click on the highest card that they want to move and drag it to the other Row Stack. Or they can also click the destination and release the cards there.
  • Only a King or Row Stack starting with a King can then be moved into any empty Row Stack position.
  • To move the top card from the Play Deck to any other stack the player must click and drag it.
  • To move the card from the top of the Play Deck or any Row Stack to a Suit Stack, click and drag it to the position - or double click it and it will go automatically to the correct stack.
  • To get to the cards that are facing down within a Row Stack, you must free them by moving the face up cards to another stack or an empty Row Stack position. When the top card in a Row Stack is a face down card the player must click on it to turn it face up.
  • When you can't move any of the top cards or stacks you can click on the Stock pile to put a new card on the Play Deck for your use. You may only go through the Stock pile one time. When the "X" appears, you have turned over your last card from that Stock pile.

To Start:

You must follow the summary of rules above, to move cards to the suit stacks in the top right-hand corner. When you have moved all of the 52 cards to the Suit Stacks or you cannot make anymore moves, the player must click End Game to collect their winnings, and to clear the board for another round of the game. Based on the cards that you have, you can then do the following by clicking with the left mouse button on the appropriate mouse button:

Deal:

This starts a new game by dealing a new hand of cards. The player may then begin play by oving or revealing the cards.

End Game:

This stops the play of the game and it also pays out any winnings (as indicated by the Win Meter) into the player's own account balance. No more moves can be played after the End Game button is clicked.

End game button also resets the whole of the game.

Undo:

This allows the player to undo the last card move, if it is permitted. Undo is only disabled when an undo action is not allowed. After clicking on the Undo button it will become inactive until a subsequent card move is made that is undoable.

When Undo Can Be used
  • Players may only use the Undo button once per move to undo the previous move.
  • Undo cannot be used if the player's last card moved to either of the 4 Foundation Suit Stacks or the 7 Row Stacks.
  • Undo cannot be used if a card or Row Stack of cards was moved from one stack to another stack.
  • Note: The exception for undo is when a face up card is on the play deck undo is allowed.
When Undo cannot be used
  • The undo button is disabled when an undo action is not allowed
  • You cannot undo the turning of a card that is face down over - after a card is turned face up it will then stay face up
  • You cannot undo the placement of a king card that has been placed within an empty column stack
Information Displayed
Number of Cards left:

This is displayed just above the Stock Pile.

Win Rate:

This indicates the rate at which the player will win money for each of the cards that is put up in the Suit Stacks. This Win Rate is then set by the Bet Selector setting. The win rate information will be updated whenever the bet selection changes at the beginning of each game.

Paid (Win Meter):

This displays the amount of money that is won by the player within the game that is being played. The Win Meter value then equals the number of cards that is within the Suit Stacks times the Win Rate. The rate meter button will then update in real-time as the player moves the cards and earns points from their moves. The win rate information will then reset at the start if each game.

Payoffs:

The winnings are paid for each card that you place within the Suit Stacks - depending on the amount of your bet, as shown by the following table:

Selection Bet\Card Bet Amount Win Rate (Amount Paid Per Card in Suit Stacks) Maximum Win

1 $0.02 $1.04 $0.10 $5.20
