Craps

Rule Authority:

InterCasino Craps is played and programmed according to Atlantic City Gaming rules. Authority: New Jersey Casino Control Commission.

Rule Exception: None.

Premise:

The well-known game of Craps is an exciting game that is made of pure chance, and has been popular since the Romans. The objective of the game is to predict the outcome of the roll of the dice.

How to Play:
Betting:

The player's chips are stacked by denomination ($1, $5, $25, $100, $500) at the bottom right hand corner of the screen, just above the user label. You select the amount that you would like to wager on a given roll(s) of the dice by clicking on the left mouse button on the chip of that denomination - this activates that specific chips denomination.

Next, you must place your bet on the Craps table by clicking on a specific bet field. To specify a bet that does not already equal an existing chips denomination, simply click on another chip denomination after placing your previous chip on the table. In example, to bet $30, click on both the $25 chip and place it on the table, and then click on the $5 chip and place that on top of your previous chip.

There are also many different types of bet available in Craps (both regular and supplementary ones after the first roll). All of these bets are displayed in the 'total bet' field to the right of your balance. You have an option of throwing the dice yourself, or letting the computer throw the dice for you.

Rolling:

If you want to roll the dice yourself, you can do this by marking the checkbox just below the roll button. After you have placed your bet(s) on the table, you can then press the 'Roll' button. A new game window will then appear on the right hand side of the screen and you can then pick up the dice by left clicking on them. To then release the dice simply let go of the mouse button. This shooter window will then automatically close after the dice have stopped rolling.

If you would like the computer to roll the dice for you, you should leave the box under the 'Roll' button unchecked. After you have placed your bets on the table you should click on the 'Roll' button and the dice will then be rolled for you. The outcome for the five previous rolls is shown in the top left-hand corner of the screen. You may close this window by clicking on the 'x' in the top left corner of the window. Anytime you win or lose a bet a message will be displayed in a window at the top of the game screen.

Types of bets & their payoffs:

Some bets are only available for the Come Out roll, and a black marker is displayed in the top left-hand corner of the Craps table before a Come Out roll. Some bets are available only after a point is established. A Point is established if the Come Out roll is either 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10. The number rolled, is called the Point and the next roll(s) is called the Point Roll. Point Rolls then continue until the shooter rolls a 7 or the Point. Once this has happens, the next Come Out roll begins the sequence again.

Type of Bet Payoff

Pass Line Bets

Also known as the "Front Line". This is the most used bet at the Craps table, and is available for the Come Out roll. Once a Point is established, the original bet may not be removed or altered. A win is made if the Come Out roll is 7 or 11. A Pass Line Bet loses if the Come Out roll is 2, 3 or 12. Point is established if the Come Out roll is 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10. Following the Come Out roll the player wins if Point is rolled prior to rolling a 7. Player loses if a 7 is rolled before rolling the Point. The bet is then removed after a win or a loss.

1 to 1

Don't Pass Bets

Also known as the "Black Line", this is available for a Come Out roll. Player wins if the Come Out roll is 2 or 3. The player loses if Come Out roll is 7, 11. There is a tie if the Come Out roll is a 12. Point is established if the Come Out roll is 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10. After the Come Out roll the player wins if a 7 is rolled prior to them rolling the Point. The player loses however, if the Point is rolled prior to rolling a 7. Bet is removed after either a win or a loss.

1 to 1

Come Bets

Come Bets are available once the Point has been established. The rules here are similar to Pass Line Bet. Once the Come Point is established, the original bet may not be removed or altered. The player wins if the shooter rolls a 7 or 11, and loses if the shooter rolls a 2, 3 or 12. Come Point is established if the shooter rolls a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 on a Come Out roll. The dealer then moves the bet from the Come area into the corresponding box for that specific number. After the Come Point has then been established, the player wins if the Come Point is rolled prior to rolling a 7. The player then loses if a 7 is rolled prior to rolling the Come Point. The bet will remain on the table following a win although the player may remove it from the table at any time. Bet is removed from the table following after a loss.

1 to 1

Don't Come Bets

Don't Come Bets are available once the Point has been established. The rules are similar to Don't Pass Bets. The player wins if the shooter rolls a 2 or 3, and they lose if the shooter rolls a 7 or 11. There is a tie if the shooter rolls a 12. Come Point is established if shooter rolls a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, and the dealer moves the bet from the Don't Come area to the corresponding box for that particular number. Once the Come Point has been established, the player then wins if a 7 is rolled before the Come Point is rolled. Loses if the Come Point is rolled prior to rolling a 7. The bet is then removed after a win or a loss.

Place Bet to Win

The player may place the bet at any time although it becomes active once the Point has been established. The player then bets on a number(s) 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10. This then becomes the Place Number. The player wins if the shooter rolls the Place Number before rolling a 7. The payoff then depends on the Place Number selected. The player loses if shooter then rolls a 7 before rolling the Place Number. The bet remains on the table after a win although the player may remove it from the table at any time. The bet is then removed from the table following a loss.

The payoff depends on the number selected, and the player loses if the shooter rolls a 7 or rolls the number the easy way. For example, roll a 4 via a 3 and 1, roll a 6 via a 4 and 2 or 5 and 1, roll an 8 via a 5 and 3 or 6 and 2, roll a 10 via a 6 and 4.
