3 Card Poker
Premise:
3 Card Poker does not require much strategy, making it a fun and fast game that is easy for players of any standard. There is a low house edge of around 2.5%, which means that its addition in the casino means that there is an exciting game for beginners to the casino floor. The aim of 3 Card Poker is to beat the dealer with the best hand possible with one draw of three cards.
Basic 3 Card Poker strategy:
Q-6-4 or Higher - Play Anything Lower - Don't Play
How to Play:
3 Card Poker games are played with the normal 52 card deck, which are distributed in hands of 3 cards, and are shuffled after each hand. In 3 Card Poker straights have a higher ranking than a flush, as there is a limited amount of ways to make a 3 card straight. Aces can be scored as either high or low cards. There are also two bets a player can put down that will enable the game payout - these are either an Ante or a Pair Plus. The Ante works the same as traditional poker, and this is the "cost" of playing the hand. The Pair Plus is the wager that the player will receive a pair or higher in their cards. The level of payout for these is listed in the table below. You do not have to place both of these bets, but players must make one of them on the game. The player can ante by placing their bet in the "Ante" spot on the table, within the table limits. Both the dealer and the player are then dealt three cards faced down. The player is able to determine whether their cards are good enough to either place a bet against the dealer or to fold. If they player folds at this moment they simply lose the "ante" bet that they have placed. If the player decides, however, to play against the dealer, they must then places a wager equal to the ante in the play spot on the table before pressing the 'play' button. If the player then wins the hand, the hand is then able to pay both the Ante and the Pair Plus wager (if used). Note: the dealer must have at least a Queen High to qualify, and anything lower means that there is an automatic win for the player providing that the player did not fold.
Payoffs:
When the player is calculating a win or loss, there are three considerations: Pair Plus result, Ante result, and the Play result (did the dealer qualify).
| Pair Plus | |
|---|---|
| Pair | 1 to 1 |
| Flush | 4 to 1 |
| Straight | 6 to 1 |
| Three of a Kind | 30 to 1 |
| Straight Flush | 40 to 1 |
| Ante Bonus | |
|---|---|
| Straight | 1 to 1 |
| Three of a Kind | 4 to 1 |
| Straight Flush | 5 to 1 |
| Play Result | |
|---|---|
| Dealer does not qualify: Ante wins, Play bet is returned | 1 to 1 |
| Dealer qualifies and player beats dealer: Both Play and ante win 1 to 1 | 1 to 1 |
Betting Limits:
$5 minimum initial Ante and Pair Plus
$300 maximum bet.
You are also able to set your table limit to below the maximum specified limit by selecting Bet Options on the Game Menu.
